Tips for eMarketing Strategy - Target the audience you want to receive your electronic marketing!
- Ask what kind of information your members want from your credit union. What have they come to your website to learn, or what kind of information are they seeking?
- When members voluntarily sign-up to receive your electronic messages, they are opting-in to your email distribution list. Because they have actually requested information from you, your messages are not considered to be junk mail, spam, or unsolicited email.
- Develop an opt-in form. When members sign up for your credit union news, you should immediately send them a confirmation email using an auto-responder. In this email, you should remind them that they have signed up and have asked to be on your list.
- Let members know how to unsubscribe (this information should also be in every email you send them). Restate the benefits they will experience by participating in your opt-in list.
- You should also confirm that you will not sell or let anyone else use their email address.
- Gather member emails also by offering staff incentives. Offer lobby promotions and contests.
