Friday, July 30, 2010 For members of Maine credit unions, finding one of the over 200 surcharge-free ATMs in Maine is now even easier! A new iPhone app allows members to find surcharge-free ATMs in Maine from their current location! The application is free, and lists all SURF ATMs, contact info, mapping instructions and displays the new SURF mascot, SURF Dude. The application can be downloaded for free at the iTunes app store.
"While in the past you would have needed to plan ahead if you wanted to access a SURF location, with this application, members will have live information regarding SURF locations and won't need to rely on accessing the first ATM terminal that they see," Rebekah Higgins, Assistant Vice President for Synergent Card Services, explained. She added that this new convenience is one more way that Synergent is making it easier for members to have access to surcharge-free ATMS wherever their travels take them. "Synergent's commitment to the growth and integrity of SURF has contributed to the long term success of the network. Credit unions continue to add ATM Terminal locations in new geographic locations that allow even more coverage and access to credit union cardholders," she said.
The SURF ATM Alliance is a network of over 200 surcharge-free ATMs located throughout Maine. Credit union members can save at least an average of $300 a year on surcharge fees when using the SURF network- one of the largest ATM networks in the state. In addition, a number of SURF ATM locations give thousands of Maine credit union members the ability to not only access cash but to also make deposits, surcharge-free. |
