Synergent Enhances Statement Processing

July 18, 2008

(Westbrook) Synergent has strengthened its statement processing with the recent installation of another new Bowe Bell & Howell BH 2000 inserting machine and two new Xerox DocuTech 128 high speed color laser printers.  The inserter offers improved efficiencies, and is dynamic, streamlined and quick, as it folds statements, inserts marketing materials and prepares thousands of statements accurately for mailing.  The color laser printers guarantee clear, eye catching statements. "Our new statement printers greatly improve the speed and quality of our statement printing offering," Tim Gilman, Synergent Operations Manager, said.

These efficiencies are supported by equally high levels of service and security.  To protect data and information as it is transmitted between appropriate parties, credit union data files are exchanged in a protected environment through a secure server.  Files sent in this manner are encrypted using a 128-Bit SSL secure certificate.  Gilman explained that due to sensitive nature of the credit union data involved in this process, maintaining security is of utmost importance in statement processing.  "Synergent makes every effort to ensure that files are protected," he said.  "We store back-up of each credit union's data on magnetic tapes.  These tapes are encrypted using FIPS 140-2 validated 256-bit AES, the new federal standard for encryption."

All inserts are printed at Synergent, so there are no freight or courier costs for these items, saving credit unions, such as Otis Federal Credit Union in Jay, ME, valuable time and money.  "Statement processing with Synergent has been seamless.  The results are timely and accurate, making the process very simple for our credit union," said Ryan Souther of Otis Federal Credit Union.

Jeff Gray, Senior Vice President, said that Synergent understands the importance of statement processing to credit unions.  "A credit union's statement projects their image directly to their members.  Therefore, we work with each credit union to ensure that their statement is a positive reflection of the credit union, while keeping the process as affordable and efficient as possible."

Formed in 1971, today Synergent has over 125 employees within its four divisions, Technology Services, Card Services, Print & Creative Services, and Check Processing & Support Services.
