Fiserv EFT has informed Synergent Card Services of a change to its Network Operating Regulations. As of July 1, 2008, issuers are allowed to enable non-Visa debit transactions as PINless debit transaction in all card acceptance environments.

To help you comply with this regulation and communicate this change to your members, and what it means to them, Synergent Direct Marketing Services has developed an informative insert.  The piece includes examples of the types of actions that may require a member to make to initiate a Visa transaction on a Visa Check Card, as well as examples of the types of actions that may require them to make to initiate a transaction on a PIN-Debit Network. It also advises members that that the terms and conditions of a member's agreement with your credit union relating to Visa debit transactions do not apply to non-Visa debit transactions.
